Tuckly: GDrive Saver ("Tuckly") is a browser extension by Amit Shaw (https://siteverostudio.com/amit-shaw) that lets you save text, links and images from web pages.
In short: we collect no data. Your saved text stays on your device, and in your own Google Drive if you choose to connect it. We never receive, see, sell or share it.
What Tuckly stores
Only when you choose to save something (right-click menu or keyboard shortcut), Tuckly stores:
- the text, link, image address or page link you chose to save
- a short piece of surrounding text from the same page (you can turn this off in Settings)
- the address (URL) and title of that page
- any note, tags or folder you add
- the date and time it was saved
Tuckly does not read pages you don't save from, track your browsing, use cookies, show ads, or collect analytics.
Video platform buttons (optional)
If you switch on a "Save button" for a video site (for example YouTube) in Settings, your browser asks you to allow Tuckly on that site only. Tuckly then shows its button on that site, and reads the video's title, channel, thumbnail address and current playback time only when you click the button. You can turn this off at any time, which also removes the permission. Saved video thumbnails are loaded from the video site's image server when you view your library.
Where it is stored
- On your device, in the extension's local browser storage. Uninstalling Tuckly removes it.
- Settings (theme, toggles) are stored in your browser's sync storage, synced by your browser between your own signed-in browsers.
- Your Google Drive (optional). If you click "Connect Google Drive", Tuckly saves:
1. a hidden backup in the application data folder of your Drive, used to restore your saved text, and
2. a visible "Tuckly" folder with a readable Google Doc of your saved text (you can turn this off).
Tuckly uses only the drive.appdata and drive.file permissions. These allow access only to files Tuckly itself creates. Tuckly cannot see, open or change any of your other Drive files. Your email address is read only to show which account is connected, and is stored only on your device.
There is no Tuckly server. Data goes directly between your browser and Google, and only when Drive backup is on.
Deleting your data
- Remove from extension (keep in Drive): removes a snippet from the extension; it stays in your Drive backup and Drive folder until you delete it.
- Delete from extension & Drive: deletes it from your device and, at the next backup, from your Drive.
- Delete everything in Settings removes all saved text from your device and, at the next backup, from your Drive.
- You can disconnect Google Drive at any time in Settings, delete the "Tuckly" folder in Drive, and remove the hidden backup via Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps.
Sensitive information
Tuckly is meant for quotes, notes and ideas. Please do not save passwords, card numbers, login details or other sensitive personal information. You are responsible for the content you choose to save.
Donations
The "Support Tuckly" button opens our website (tuckly.siteverostudio.com). Any payment happens on that website and its payment provider, not inside the extension. The extension never handles payment details.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or transfer your data to anyone, and do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness or any purpose other than the extension's single function of saving and organizing your text. If you use a "Share" button, the text you choose is passed to the app or website you pick (for example WhatsApp or email), under that service's own privacy policy.
Google API usage
Tuckly's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
Tuckly is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
